Join us at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas as a Trauma Program Manager-Registered Nurse. This role is responsible for coordinating comprehensive and integrated care for trauma patients from prevention through discharge.

Responsibilities
Utilizes a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care by performing comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, making nursing diagnoses that serve as the basis for the strategy of care, developing a plan of care based on the assessment and nursing diagnosis, implementing nursing care, and evaluating the patient's responses to nursing interventions.
Make assignments to others that take into consideration patient safety and that are commensurate with the educational preparation, experience, knowledge, and physical and emotional ability of the person to whom the assignments are made, in compliance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Maintains required documentation of patient care and unit activities in accordance with standards.
Clarify any order or treatment regimen that the nurse has reason to believe is inaccurate, non‑efficacious or contraindicated, by consulting with a licensed practitioner and notifying the ordering practitioner when the nurse decides not to administer the medication or treatment.
Ensures compliance with DSHS standards as a Level IV Trauma Center. Participates in the development and implementation of patient care protocols, policies and procedures, and recommendations concerning trauma patient care. Performs chart audits on patients admitted in the ED with traumatic diagnosis and monitors patients from admission to discharge for medical necessity of procedures and/or appropriate treatment.
Enters or supervises entry of necessary data into the Trauma Registry and reviews statistics. Coordinates trauma program services with other patient care services and reviews required forms on all trauma diagnoses and transfers.
Active participant of the local RAC‑R. Promotes benefits of an organized trauma service system to professional and community groups. Participates in community educational programs, interacts with local EMS community, participation in the Texas Trauma Coordinator's Forum (TTCF).
Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program, BSN required.
3–5 years related experience in Level 1–3 Trauma Center, preferably involved in trauma program.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Current RN License in the state of Texas
BLS certification
ACLS certification
PALS or ENPC certification
TNCC certification
Current membership in a national or regional trauma organization (STN, ATS)
National certification required (e.g., CEN, CCRN, CTRN)
