Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., plus scheduled events that require attendance and flexibility for on‑call and emergency duties.

Overview St. Pius X High School is seeking a reliable and dedicated Maintenance Supervisor to join our facilities team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, machinery, vehicles and equipment on campus. This role requires a commitment to managing preventive and reactive maintenance needs with a flexible schedule. This position reports to the Director of Facilities, is responsible for managing the maintenance program and is open to feedback and professional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Conduct daily inspections of buildings and grounds, identifying and reporting potential life safety or maintenance issues to the Director of Facilities.

Create and prioritize work orders based on requests and urgency, updating requestors on progress and closing completed orders.

Coordinate parcel and package deliveries and manage the relocation of lunch tables and chairs for cleaning.

Attend weekly coordination meetings with the Director of Facilities.

Perform monthly inspections of fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and maintain accurate records in the Fire Marshal binder.

Conduct safety training for maintenance staff, covering ladder use, chemical safety, lifting techniques, PPE, and equipment operation.

Ensure all equipment, electrical, and mechanical rooms are clean and organized.

Schedule indoor pest control treatments.

Perform quarterly inspections of asbestos‑containing materials and maintain the AHERA binder.

Schedule and oversee preventative maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC, motors, gate openers, and water filters.

Supervise and assist with annual life safety inspections.

Oversee floor care and relocation of furniture and equipment.

Provide evaluations and assessments for equipment approaching end of life to the Director of Facilities.

Respond to event setup requests and verify satisfactory completion with requestors.

Schedule equipment rentals and ensure equipment is returned after use.

Address heating and cooling requests, adjusting temperature set points as needed.

Update MSDS binder for chemicals used on campus.

Create keys, install cylinder cores and handsets for doors, as requested by the Director of Facilities.

Schedule and supervise contractors for tasks beyond school maintenance capacity.

Order maintenance supplies, materials, and equipment with budgetary approval from the Director of Facilities.

Assist in scheduling and supervising contractors for capital improvement projects.

Inspect vehicles for reported issues and refer repairs to appropriate repair shops.

Transport goods or equipment as assigned.

Assist Director of Facilities with meetings involving City, County, and State inspectors.

Ensure building security by locking and unlocking doors and gates and respond to emergencies on a 24‑hour basis.

Supervise contracted janitorial staff and maintenance crew, ensuring effective operation and safety.

Perform other duties as deemed necessary by school leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

Commitment to embrace the Catholic Mission and Dominican Charism at St. Pius X High School.

Completion of Safe Haven environment training.

High school diploma or GED.

Possess a current driver’s license.

Experience supervising facilities, maintenance or equivalent for at least three years.

Ability to interpret safety documents, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and basic mobile device applications.

Good verbal and written communication skills to follow or convey instructions.

Open to flexible scheduling and on‑call duties during nonstandard hours as needed.

Understands the working environment while performing duties such as being exposed to elements, chemicals, machinery, etc.

Comfortable with physical demands that require unconventional conditions, heavy lifting, working at heights, and more.
