Position Summary The Registered Nurse is a member of the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with the Physician. The RN supports the patient care process using the nursing care process.
Assessment – Identify, gather, and organize subjective and objective data regarding patient, family, and significant other, including physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural aspects.
Planning – Develop actual or potential problems, desired outcomes, and a documented plan of care.
Intervention – Implement specific interventions or orders consistent with the plan of care and medical treatment plan.
Evaluation – Determine effectiveness of interventions, document required actions, and adjust the care plan as needed.
The RN may also perform limited laboratory services including specimen collection, processing, quality control testing, instrument maintenance, and reporting of test results.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in accordance with state licensure and Organizational policy.
Coordinate interdisciplinary care and document assessment, plan, intervention, and evaluation.
Support performance improvement initiatives and lead educational activities for team members.
Follow emergency department protocols for trauma, stroke, cardiac, and other emergent conditions.
Comply with ACLS, ATCN, PALS, and other specialty certifications as required or preferred.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred.
Registered RN license in the State of New Jersey or equivalent multi‑state license.
BLS and valid New Jersey driver’s license required.
Minimum 2 years of medical/surgical or emergency room experience (preferred).
ACLS required within 6 months of hire; ATCN or TNCC required within 24 months; PALS or ENPC within 12 months.
Completion of minimum 8 contact hours of basic trauma education and 8 hours of basic stroke education per year.
Certifications & Training
Other certifications (CCRN, CPR, CAD, etc.) preferred as indicated in specialty sections.
Participation in continuing education and competency programs (CPI, CME) required.
