Description POSITION DESCRIPTION: Responsible for assisting the physician and office nurse in answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, receiving patients, and completing the patient encounter as per office specifications.
Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma and Medical Assistant certification from an accredited institution. Must be computer literate with prior experience in a medical office practice. Requires good customer service skills and an ability to adapt to changing needs of the department. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a physician office medical assistant position; preferred experience in a HIPAA environment.
Physical and Mental Demands
Ability to think and work effectively under stress and with interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the workday.
Must possess physical strength to assist patients and use prosthetics that enable these tasks adequately.
Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the assigned responsibilities.
