Overview
Element has an opportunity for a
Metallurgist
whose primary responsibility isto safely perform tests and report testing evaluations. Work is to be performed in accordance with established QA procedures.
Salary: $70K-$85K/yr
Responsibilities
Prepare and operate all equipment necessary to perform testing in the Metallurgical Lab
Performs daily verifications and adjusts equipment baselines accordingly
Performs standard and non standard metallurgical evaluations
Maintains testing equipment for operation and performs routine housekeeping tasks associated with the area(s) trouble shooting as necessary.
Insures that ample supplies are available for operation of testing area
As needed, interface with clients on matters of concern/interest
Other duties as required
Skills / Qualifications
Degree/Diploma in Metallurgy or related discipline
2-4 years of experience working in a laboratory in the field of metallurgy testing
Good knowledge on international standards and codes
Excellent report writing skill
Good communication skills
Self-motivated team playing with excellent organisational and communication skills
