As a Pharmacy Manager in Outpatient Ambulatory Care, you will lead a team of nearly 30 pharmacy professionals, ensuring exceptional service, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance in an outpatient pharmacy setting. Responsibilities
Provide strategic and operational leadership for the outpatient pharmacy, including discharge pharmacy operations
Serve as pharmacist‑in‑charge, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and controlled substance regulations
Monitor quality, safety, and financial performance metrics
Optimize pharmacy workflows with automation and technology solutions
Actively participate in institutional committees and quality improvement projects
Precept pharmacy residents and students to support clinical development and professional growth
Partner with physicians, nursing, case management, and specialty pharmacy teams to deliver seamless, patient‑centered care
Qualifications Education & Experience
Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy (minimum requirement)
Completion of an ASHP‑accredited residency program – preferred
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an outpatient pharmacy; hospital outpatient experience preferred
Previous supervisory or management experience – preferred
Licenses & Certifications
Advanced Practice Pharmacist License – preferred
Board certification in a relevant area of practice – preferred
Excellent patient service skills with a focus on safe, effective medication use
Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities
Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and patients
Project management and regulatory compliance knowledge
Adaptability to technology and automated pharmacy systems
Physical Requirements
Frequent sitting, walking, bending, reaching; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
Responsive to alarms and communication devices
Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients, and staff
Ability to read medication labels accurately
