Job Title Laboratory Technician I – Entry Level, Full‑time, Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Portsmouth, NH (or commutable distance).
Job Description The Laboratory Technician I supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. This is an entry‑level position; a college degree is not required.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities – Sample Receiving
Prepare samples from processing.
Accept and sign for deliveries.
Assist in unloading shipments from delivery truck.
Open coolers and inspect contents of shipments; check documentation to ensure all samples are accounted for.
Distribute samples in different departments as appropriate.
Follow strict safety and quality control procedures.
Store, restock, and shelve samples as necessary.
Ensure that work area is clean and organized.
Enter records in LIMS system.
Demonstrate and promote the company vision.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Apply GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate.
Perform routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs, including:
Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis.
Prepare samples using standard techniques.
Perform chemical analysis using standard techniques.
Calculate data.
Record and report data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor.
Perform routine instrument maintenance.
Perform job functions in compliance with Eurofins environmental health safety and quality assurance standards.
Maintain general housekeeping in the work area.
Work under close supervision using routine and standard methods.
Aliquot and weigh samples.
Wash glassware.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities – Lab Technician
Perform microbiology analysis by Idexx methods, which may include but are not limited to:
Handle and process samples following aseptic procedures.
Prepare reagents and media.
Prepare dilutions.
Record and track incubation times.
Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
Prepare general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
Wash laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
Stock laboratory supplies.
Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Clean work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
Assist other laboratory areas as needed.
Qualifications – Basic Minimum Qualifications
Strong organizational skills.
Close attention to detail.
Physical strength necessary to lift and move heavy boxes.
Ability to use LIMS software competently.
Reading, writing, and speaking skills.
Problem‑solving skills.
Team participation and meeting management skills.
Time management and organization skills.
Ability to use calculator/mathematical formulas and concepts.
Complete work within time and quality constraints.
Work independently following written or verbal instructions.
Cooperate and coordinate orally and in writing.
Education / Experience
HS Diploma required.
High school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience.
Previous production‑oriented work (awareness and ability to meet deadlines).
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Professional working proficiency in English (read, write, speak).
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; samples will be in coolers packed in ice.
Perform other duties as assigned.
