Job Summary and Responsibilities We are offering a $10,000 sign‑on bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements. Neuro Telemetry (5NNB) at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is a 32‑bed Neurosurgery/Neurological Telemetry unit and integral part of the world‑renowned Barrow Neurological Institute. The Neuro Telemetry staff handles complex neurological and neurosurgical cases, including traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, brain tumors, stroke, and many other conditions. As a member of this team, you'll provide exceptional care, receive comprehensive training, and have numerous chances to contribute to unit and house‑wide teams. As a Neurology Nurse, you'll conduct neurological exams, administer medications, monitor intake and output, and closely monitor patients' blood pressure. You will also oversee external ventricular drains, intracranial bolts, or lumbar drains. Your role is part of a collaborative team with nurses, physicians, case managers, and allied health professionals, striving to offer the best possible outcome. While each shift contains the same fundamental duties, no two days are the same. You may see patients with new neurological diseases or brain operations in regions rarely handled. This work can be emotionally demanding but rewarding when patients celebrate victories.

Responsibilities

Ensure continuity of care by conferring with nurses from the prior shift and performing a neuro exam together before they leave.

Perform neurological and head‑to‑toe exams, closely watch for status changes. Monitor external ventricular drains, intracranial bolts, lumbar drains, blood pressure, and notify a physician of any neuro status changes, fluid balance changes, or difficulty maintaining correct blood pressure. Administer medications as needed.

Serve as a compassionate resource for patients' families, answering questions and supporting vulnerable patients.

Deliver the best possible care to every patient daily and maintain their dignity.

Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

AZ RN license or RN license from a Compact State.

American Heart Association BLS Certification.

Preferred Qualifications

One year recent acute care experience.

BSN.

Professional certification in area of specialty.

Pay Range $35.00 - $58.63 per hour
