Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) | School Day or After School | Part-Time | Queens, NY Overview/Impact Are you a dedicated and experienced Speech‑Language Pathologist prepared to support students in the Queens develop their communication abilities? Knowledge Road is seeking a part‑time Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team and deliver critical support to students in NYC Department of Education (DOE) schools. With a substantial shortage across the city of related service providers, your skills are urgently required to help students in addressing communication challenges and reaching academic goals. This is an chance to create a significant impact, engaging with students with varied communication requirements in educational settings.

As an SLP with Knowledge Road, you will enjoy the autonomy to deliver individualized therapy using evidence‑based practices, working collaboratively with school teams and families to advance student communication development.

Responsibilities

Deliver direct, high‑quality speech and language therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, as outlined in their Individualized Education Service Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP).

Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose and evaluate speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.

Design and implement innovative and effective treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each student.

Partner with parents, teachers, and other school professionals to establish a holistic and supportive learning environment.

Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes according to DOE and Knowledge Road standards.

Engage actively in IESP/IEP meetings, offering expert insights and recommendations to advance student progress.

Qualifications

Current valid NYS license in Speech‑Language Pathology.

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA).

A minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a school‑based setting.

Competence in electronic documentation and teletherapy platforms.

NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or readiness to complete prior to start.

Schedule & Location This is a part‑time, school‑day or after‑school position in Queens with a schedule that aligns with the NYC DOE calendar. You will offer services on‑site at one or more schools in Queens, with assignments based on student needs. Hours/week are based on IESP/IEP mandates; caseload may fluctuate by assignment. Typically approximately 5‑15 hours per week depending on placements.

Compensation This 1099 contractor role offers a tiered hourly rate based on group size, from $75–$180 per hour.
