The Nakoa Companies Inc. is seeking two energetic, team-oriented Project Engineers to support and drive the technical execution of government and commercial construction projects. Based on-site, the Project Engineer plays a critical role in planning, scheduling, procurement, and communication from pre-construction through project closeout. Develop technical solutions in collaboration with the Project Manager. Ensure adherence to technical standards and compliance with regulations. Project Planning & Execution

Assist in the creation and management of project schedules using GANTT or PERT charts. Monitor progress and flag potential delays or issues to leadership. Contribute to project execution to meet deadlines and budget targets.

Procurement & Resource Coordination

Perform accurate material takeoffs and source required materials. Develop scope of work documents and evaluate subcontractor alternatives. Organize procurement schedules and track vendor performance.

Change Order Management

Develop pricing for proposed changes and negotiate outcomes. Manage CO execution from approval to payment application.

Provide consistent project updates to ownership and internal stakeholders. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to maintain progress and resolve challenges. Act as a key liaison between engineering teams and on-site staff. Support project budgeting processes and ongoing cost control. Prepare monthly billing applications and coordinate owner acceptance and payment follow-up. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management (required). 3–5 years of construction experience in the field, ideally on commercial or government projects. Strong knowledge of construction processes, standards, and materials. Proficiency in reading drawings, managing schedules, and coordinating resources. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead by example, adapt to shifting priorities, and take initiative. No specific certifications required, but hands-on experience is essential. Other Requirements

Must pass a 5-panel drug screen (federal contracting requirement). Must be eligible for access to military facilities. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
