Position Summary The Social Worker provides social services to all inpatient and day hospital patients. This role is fully licensed and works with a multidisciplinary treatment team on the inpatient unit.
Salary Salary range: $64,308 – $70,985.60.
Responsibilities
Participate as an integral professional member of a multidisciplinary treatment team led by the psychiatrist.
Facilitate the therapeutic milieu on the treatment unit.
Perform social work interventions as directed by the treatment team, the treating psychiatrist and/or the Lead Social Worker.
Obtain and assess social history information and report this to the treatment teams.
Perform discharge planning/case management from the day of admission.
Provide group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, substance abuse group or didactic services, and/or couples therapy as deemed appropriate.
Act as liaison for hospitalized patients with various community agencies and resources.
Attend treatment team conferences and complete treatment plans.
Document in the medical record.

Qualifications
Master of Social Work degree from a school of Social Work accredited by the Council of Social Work Education, and/or an MA degree required.
Current license in the state of Michigan as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), LLMSW, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Limited Licensed Counselor (LLC) required.
Experience on an inpatient psychiatric unit preferred.
Good standing employment/corrective action history, performance evaluation, etc. to be considered for an internal transfer.
