Kinetic (now Uniti) seeks an experienced construction inspector for outside plant telecommunications infrastructure. The role is safety sensitive and demands rigorous oversight of projects across the state.

About the Role The OSP (Outside Plant) Construction Inspector I/II oversees and inspects the construction and maintenance of outside plant telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring accurate, safe and regulatory‑compliant project execution.

What You’ll Do

Collaborate with contractors and engineers to review and correct work prints.

Conduct pre‑construction site walks to assess constructability.

Identify potential issues and provide recommendations for smooth execution.

Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations per permit approval documents.

Oversee OSP construction projects from delivery through completion.

Monitor progress and address any issues during construction.

Review permits, work prints and wording for impacts on the project.

Coordinate with stakeholders to keep projects on time and budget.

Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date project documentation.

Prepare and submit regular status reports, noting delays or issues.

Document changes and update project files promptly.

Travel to construction sites 50–80 % of the time.

Do You Have?

College degree in Engineering or related field with 0–2 years of professional level experience; or 4 + years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Ability to discern colors on color work prints.

High School Diploma or GED.

Strong understanding and ability to interpret OSP engineering prints.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a desire to help and guide others.

Ability to conduct detailed site walks and spot construction challenges.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Capability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.

Even Better

Experience engaging with counties, townships, EMCs, DOT and tribal authorities to navigate regulatory requirements once permits are obtained.

Extensive OSP telecommunications construction experience.

Experience working with local and state officials for permits and compliance.

Four years or more in communications construction, field operations or OSP engineering, and contractor experience.

Minimum Requirements College degree in Engineering or related field with 0–2 years of professional level experience; or 4 + years professional level related Engineering/Technical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a safety sensitive position.
