Job Summary The Director Practitioner Wellness, Integration, and Leadership is responsible for executing strategic implementations of the Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH) Practitioner Quality Program and Physician Integration. Serves as an essential link and subject matter expert to hospital administration, Medical Staff and Allied Health Professional Staff to promote and ensure effective strategic comradery between all Practitioners and the organization’s administration and leaders. The Director Practitioner Wellness, Integration, and Leadership is responsible for directing, planning, and organizing all administrative, financial, educational, and managerial activities of the Physician Integration Strategic plan. The Director will lead the strategic vision, by listening to the voice of the physician, to implement tactics aimed at improving provider communication and engagement across NCH. The Practitioner Wellness, Integration, and Leadership will lead development and growth of the Physician Leadership Program, including NCH’s Physician Leadership Academy – an innovation project launched to meet the physician’s requested alignment with the strategic needs of the organization. The Director leads and oversees true strategic operational change and facilitates delivery of measurable outcome performance and organizational improvements, based on physician integration and engagement to quality. The Director leads and oversees projects to bridge a physician culture gap within our organization by engaging our pluralistic medical staff model and creating a platform of development, professionalism, and personal growth for physicians to lead change in the organization. By developing physician leaders, the Director facilitates bidirectional communication with administration and physicians to prioritize professionalism and a safe culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Physician Leadership Development

Develop and implement a physician leadership program to engage and support professional growth.

Utilize leadership programs bridging Physician Leaders and Administration to improve outcomes for patients and Providers.

Drive Physician Culture change by using self-assessments and strength-based leadership training, supporting all aspects of Physician Leaders.

Foster Collaboration by leading programs that develop trust between the pluralistic medical staff model and Administration.

Build leadership development in Physician groups to use “change management” and “leading people” to support strategic outcome for the organization.

Mentor Physician leaders to promote healthy work environments by addressing physician behaviors that violate the code of conduct policy with use of crucial conversations and interventions with Providers to support meaningful physician behavioral change.

Practitioner Wellness Plan

Facilitating initiatives for physicians to drive organizational improvements by actively listening to the “voice of the physician.”

Works with Strategy to develop measurable outcomes with Physician leaders to drive organizational change based on physician led initiatives.

Provide excellent consumer services for providers at NCH through engaging and implementing strategies design to serve the voice of physicians and providers.

Embed a culture of safety by ensuring and cultivating open and safe communication between physicians and administration.

Coordinate with physician leadership to identify clinical and non-clinical technology, software, and equipment needs in support of providers.

Champion campaigns to remove barriers for physicians’ work environments, reducing risk for burnout.

Create reports, presentations, and data analysis for purposes of improvement relating to strategic goals.

Practitioner Integration and Strategic Planning

Acts as a liaison to provide effective communication and submit matter expert to the medical staff and allied health professional staff, hospital administration and governing body, and other contracted entities to meet Physician Integration goals.

Partner with other key departments to develop short- and long-range strategic plans for the Medical Staff Office and an integrated strategic plan, including Centers of Excellence and Institute development.

Work collaboratively with physicians to improve “on the job” wellness by removing non-value-added work and creating a process for closed-loop communication from physicians regarding suggestions for improvements on high priority issues.

Other Duties

Executive oversight for the overall direction, management, coordination, and evaluation within areas as assigned.

Responsible for team leadership, ensuring effective resources and processes are in place to provide excellent customer service to all Practitioners across the organization.

Team with clinical service lines, hospital and contracted facility physician and administration leadership to ensure meaningful metrics and best practices are implemented and maintained across NCH.

Optimize operations across NCH ensuring effective implementation of best practices and process improvement initiatives.

Responsible for departmental budget relating to physician strategy and integration. Positions report to and perform all other tasks and special projects as assigned by Chief Clinical Officers.

Education, Experience and Qualifications

Minimum of bachelor’s or advanced degree in healthcare related profession, Business Administration, Organizational Change, Strategic Management. Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Business Administration, Economics, or Healthcare related profession.

Minimum of 3 years’ progressive leadership experience in diversified business organizational or healthcare required.

Certification in Quality, Organizational change, Behavioral change, project management preferred.

Flexibility, perseverance, fortitude, and excellent written/verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated emotional intelligence and ability to independently handle difficult communication situations.

Strong leadership, professionalism, and past organizational change accomplishments are required.

Extensive knowledge of computers, database management, information retrieval and report formatting are preferred.

Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
