Position Summary Under minimal supervision, provide nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies. Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree and two years in acute care (med/surg, telemetry or ICU).
Required Certifications / Licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified on hire. Must complete AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support (ACLS) completed within 60 days of hire for ADULT CRITICAL CARE, TELEMETRY, or INTERIM CRITICAL CARE units.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) completed within 60 days of hire for PEDI ICU.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) completed within 60 days of hire for NICU.
Stable for NICU – Level 2 Nursery: Provide proof of prior completion or obtain within 6 months of hire.
