Purpose Under general supervision, provide routine nursing care within the limits of nursing knowledge, education, licensure, experience and ethical, legal standards of care. Carry out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.

Essential Functions

Demonstrate best practices and quality care.

Assess the physical, social, and emotional needs of patients and families.

Teach and counsel patients and families concerning health assessment and care including prevention of disease and health maintenance.

Accurately and completely report and document status, care rendered, response to care, provider orders, contacts with patient and/or other healthcare providers.

Accurately and completely perform patient follow‑up activities including laboratory results and diagnostics, appointments, referrals, medications, and call backs.

Call pharmacy with prescription refills as prescribed by and under the direction of the physician.

Participate in orienting, training, and guiding team members.

Assess and prioritize medical needs via telephone and direct patients to appropriate and necessary care.

Guide evaluation including instructing patient/caller how to evaluate normal/abnormal symptoms, effectiveness of treatment and when to call back.

Document symptoms/complaints, nursing assessment, advice and patient/caller response.

Follow policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure consistency and departmental effectiveness as well as improve health care outcomes of patients/callers and their access to appropriate health care.

Collect data, make assessments, develop a working diagnosis, determine interventions and disposition per guidelines.

Adhere to all company policies, including but not limited to OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct.

Maintain regular and dependable attendance due to teamwork, face‑to‑face interaction with patients and/or working with equipment.

Follow the core competencies set forth by the Company.

Work holiday shift(s) as required by Company policy.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Two or more years of clinical experience preferred (within the last five years); experience with OB/Gyn and related specialties preferred.

Previous experience in an ambulatory, hospital, or home health setting preferred.

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Texas and current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card; maintain RN license and CPR certification during employment.

Utilize computer software and associated programs to triage and send reports to appropriate agencies or clinics.

Use nursing judgment as an adjunct to the computer software program to reach appropriate dispositions and care advice.

Respond appropriately to emergency situations.

Apply nursing principles, practices and techniques.

Exercise initiative and judgment in selecting proper treatment.

Engage others, listen and adapt response to meet others’ needs.

Work Location Training and orientation at our administrative facility. Work‑from‑home opportunities after ~90 days. Must reside in Texas and be willing to attend on‑site training and occasional in‑person department meetings in Austin, TX.

Work Schedule Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
