$69,000 - $108,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity We are partnering with organizations in Charlotte that are seeking Tooling Engineers. Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.

Analyze tooling failures and implement corrective actions to improve tool life and performance.

Collaborate with production and design teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and manufacturing requirements.

Manage tooling projects from concept through production, including vendor selection and budget control.

Perform preventative maintenance planning and oversee repairs of manufacturing tools.

Evaluate new tooling technologies and materials for potential application to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Develop and maintain tooling documentation, including CAD models, drawings, and specifications.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tooling design and analysis.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, injection molding, machining) and material properties.

Proven experience in tooling design, build, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Ability to apply DFM/DFA principles to optimize tool performance and manufacturability.

Knowledge of GD&T and metrology for tool inspection and quality control.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., Moldflow, AutoForm).

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, VBA) for automation or data analysis related to tooling.

Knowledge of additive manufacturing applications for tooling components or prototyping.
