Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) - Travel Position (with $7,500 Completion Bonus)

Location: Columbus, OH Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12 Nights Pay: $2,130.12/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Summary The MICU Registered Nurse provides specialized critical care to patients with severe and complex medical conditions requiring intensive monitoring and advanced interventions. This role involves managing ventilators, administering critical medications, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to stabilize and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the MICU.

Monitor and interpret vital signs, hemodynamic parameters, and lab results.

Administer and titrate vasoactive medications, antibiotics, and other critical care drugs.

Manage invasive lines (central lines, arterial lines), ventilators, and advanced monitoring equipment.

Respond promptly to emergencies, including code situations and rapid deterioration.

Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.

Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery expectations.

Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).

Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies.

Qualifications

Education:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).

Licensure:

Current RN license in [State].

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required

Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) – Preferred

Experience:

Minimum 1–2 years of recent MICU or critical care experience required.

Skills & Competencies

Expertise in managing high-acuity medical patients.

Strong proficiency in ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring.

Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and assist with patient care for extended periods.

Manual dexterity for operating critical care equipment.
