Registered Nurse (RN) – Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) - Travel Position (with $7,500 Completion Bonus)
Location: Salem OR Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4x12 Nights Pay:$2,880.96/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts) Job Summary
The Intermediate Care Unit RN provides specialized care for patients requiring a higher level of monitoring and intervention than a general medical-surgical unit but less intensive than ICU. This role involves managing complex medical conditions, continuous monitoring, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective care. Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor patients with moderate to high acuity. Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry monitoring. Administer medications, IV therapies, and titrate drips as prescribed. Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and elevate care when necessary. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams. Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, and discharge planning. Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR). Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures. Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing). Licensure:
Current RN license in [State]. Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required Critical Care or Telemetry Certification – Preferred
Experience:
Minimum 1–2 years of acute care experience; IMC, step-down, or telemetry experience strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and intermediate-level critical care. Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills. Excellent communication and patient education abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and assist with patient care for extended periods. Manual dexterity for operating monitoring equipment and performing nursing procedures. Benefits
