Position: Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Parsippany, New Jersey / New York Region
Schedule: Full-time, On-Site
Compensation: $130,000–$200,000 (based on experience)

Position Overview We are seeking a
Senior Geotechnical Project Engineer
with strong geotechnical expertise to lead technical design, reporting, and project management activities. This role requires a Senior Project Engineer capable of delivering full engineering reports, managing client communication, and producing designs for retaining walls, piles, and other geotechnical support systems.
Candidates
must
be located within a
1-hour commute of the offices (Parsippany, NJ)
and hold a
Professional Engineer (PE) License .
Key Responsibilities
Manage geotechnical projects from planning to final delivery, including schedules, budgets, and technical execution.
Perform and oversee geotechnical investigations and subsurface evaluations.
Prepare complete engineering reports (A–Z), including data analysis, calculations, and engineering recommendations.
Design geotechnical structures such as retaining walls, deep foundations, piles, shoring, and other support systems.
Produce designs, drawings, and calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and relevant geotechnical software.
Serve as the main client-facing engineer, managing communication, expectations, updates, and technical discussions.
Conduct foundation inspections, SOE monitoring, and construction phase oversight.
Evaluate soil conditions and provide recommendations during active construction.
Coordinate project tasks with internal staff, senior engineers, and external partners.
Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and project documentation.
Mentor junior staff and support team development as needed.
Conduct occasional site visits (approx. 10%) for field evaluations and construction support.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
6+ years of professional engineering experience
(8–12 years strongly preferred).
5+ years managing Geotechnical projects
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license .
At least
3 years of office-based geotechnical design experience .
Field experiences performing soil investigations, foundation inspections, and SOE monitoring.
Strong proficiency with
AutoCAD Civil 3D
and geotechnical design methodologies.
Demonstrated experience designing retaining walls, piles, and similar geotechnical systems.
Fluent in English (C1/C2 level).
Valid driver’s license and ability to conduct field visits.
Additional Qualifications
Proficiency with engineering design software (Quake, WEAP, L-Pile, FEA tools).
Experience using NitroPro, GSLOPE, KeyWall, Rocscience, and Microsoft Word/Excel.
Background in environmental and civil-site engineering projects.
Experience working on government or municipal projects.
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certified.
Work Environment & Compensation
Full-time, in-person W-2 role.
Compensation:
$130,000–$200,000 USD , depending on experience and licensure.
