Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures. Analyze tooling performance, identify failures, and implement corrective actions. Manage tooling projects from concept through design, build, and production launch. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define tooling requirements and specifications. Conduct tool trials, validate performance, and ensure adherence to quality standards. Research and implement new tooling technologies and materials to improve efficiency. Oversee tool maintenance, repair, and modification schedules. Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field. Proven experience in designing, developing, and optimizing tooling for manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, casting). Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tool design and analysis. Strong understanding of materials science (metals, plastics) and various machining and fabrication processes. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles. Experience with root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for tooling-related issues. Bonus Qualifications
Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, mold flow analysis). Familiarity with additive manufacturing techniques for tooling applications.
