Overview
Senior Cloud Engineer – Kubernetes & IaC (AWS | Remote) Contract: 6 months (likely extension). Location: Fully Remote (CST or EST). Compensation: 80/hr. Senior Cloud Engineer to support a major cloud modernization initiative unifying three cloud environments into a single, scalable, cloud-portable platform. This is a hands-on execution role focused on Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS CDK (Python). You’ll help migrate large-scale workloads into Kubernetes, modernize infrastructure, and improve multi-region disaster recovery. Responsibilities
Build and operate Kubernetes-based infrastructure (EKS preferred) Migrate workloads from ECS/EC2 to Kubernetes Write Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and AWS CDK (Python) Design cloud-portable patterns (AWS today, GCP next) Support multi-region resiliency and automated failover Collaborate with Principal Engineers and Cloud Leadership Contribute to standardized tooling across multiple legacy environments Required Qualifications
Strong Kubernetes experience (mandatory) Terraform for multi-environment automation AWS CDK using Python 7+ years in Cloud / DevOps / SRE engineering Experience supporting production-scale systems Nice to Have
EKS, GitOps (Argo, Flux), CI/CD pipelines Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch) GCP exposure Cloud portability or modernization projects Execution-focused role. No people management. No live coding interviews.
