Accounting Certificate Program
Salary: $43,000 - $48,900
Description Provides information and advice to enrolled and prospective students regarding academic programs offered by the University or specific department, including admission requirements and retention through graduation. May coordinate work of entry‑level academic advisors. The position works in the Department of Accountancy & Taxation at the C. T. Bauer College of Business and engages with students to advise on academic requirements for degree progress, course selection, policies, procedures, and resources.
Responsibilities
Advise enrolled and prospective students regarding academic programs and curricula.
Analyze and process degree plans, graduation applications, grade‑change forms, and general petitions.
Maintain student files updated throughout academic careers and make changes to records as necessary.
Analyze and process requests for readmission from academic suspension, financial‑aid reinstatements, and provide retention services for students on probation.
Assist in conducting orientation sessions for groups of incoming new students.
Assist in recruiting high‑school and community‑college students; make presentations at special events.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Advise current post‑baccalaureate and graduate accounting students with attention to detail and accuracy.
Process academic forms and letters related to academic advising.
Assist with planning and executing events for current accounting students.
Be adaptable to change as constant improvements are made in advising.
Qualifications Education is considered in lieu of experience. Minimum of three (3) years of directly job‑related experience preferred. Must have a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical, or professional discipline, or basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge typically obtained through a formal, directly job‑related four‑year degree or equivalent specialized training program.
Preferences
Experience in higher education.
Experience directly in academic advising.
