YOU SHOULD HAVE:

A minimum of 2 years of experience in Shopify Websites Development.

An expertise in Shopify theme development and customization.

Expert-level knowledge of Shopify Liquid templating language.

Experience in creating custom sections from scratch and developing reusable front-end components within Shopify themes.

Advanced knowledge of Metafields, Metaobjects, and the Shopify Search & Discovery app.

Proficiency with the Shopify Storefront GraphQL API, with an understanding of both the Admin and Storefront API layers (considered a strong plus).

Familiarity with Shopify CLI for efficient theme development and deployment.

Proficiency in working with different Shopify JS APIs (storefront, AJAX Cart, Sections etc).

An expertise in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript/ECMAScript.

A knowledge of SCSS (preferred).

An expertise in JavaScript libraries (e.g., jQuery).

A thorough understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.

A strong understanding of responsive web design techniques.

An understanding of W3C web standards, semantics, and accessibility guidelines.

Experience with WordPress, Magento, and BigCommerce (preferred).

Proficiency in PHP/MYSQL and AJAX (preferred).

Experience with Ruby (preferred).

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

A proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative and ownership of your work.

Great attention to detail and an organized work style.

An ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at the same time.

A positive and upbeat attitude with the ability to learn quickly.

Excellent written and spoken English.

The availability to work 40 hours per week from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm PST.

A reliable remote workstation with a fast computer, microphone, webcam, speakers, reliable internet, and power.

YOUR DUTIES AND TASKS:

Developing eCommerce sites on the Shopify platform and developing custom Shopify themes.

Build custom sections, blocks, and components to enhance site functionality and overall user experience.

Optimize and extend core Shopify theme features with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Leverage the Shopify Storefront GraphQL API to implement advanced features beyond standard Liquid capabilities.

Integrate and customize third-party apps and extensions within Shopify themes and the checkout process.

Migrating websites from other eCommerce platforms to Shopify.

Extending Shopify’s functionalities to the next level using storefront APIs, liquid programming, meta fields, etc.

Integrating third-party and platform supported apps in the sites.

Setting up payment integration, shipping methods and taxes in the Shopify platform.

Ensuring page speed optimization of Shopify sites.

Implementing SEO/CRO best practices in Shopify sites.

Transforming complex layout PSDs into pixel-perfect presentation-layer HTML5/CSS3 templates.

Creating responsive website designs.

Working with version control systems such as GIT / SVN.

Working under tight deadlines and handling multiple projects at the same time.

Producing high quality of work with a strong focus on detail.

Thoroughly QA’ing work prior to submission.

Stay up to date with the latest Shopify platform updates, tools, and best practices.

Communicate clearly and regularly with team leads, project managers, and designers.

Take initiative in suggesting improvements, sharing feedback, and identifying opportunities to enhance workflows and project outcomes.

California, New York, Washington, and Colorado: starting base pay for this position ranges between $17 - $35 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority of the position offered. Outside of California, New York, Washington, and Colorado compensation may fall outside the above ranges.
