Position Overview
As the IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading a US-focused SAP S/4HANA enhancement project to expand and optimize existing capabilities across Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Logistics processes. This role supports the implementation of enhanced features and functionality within the existing SAP S/4HANA landscape and is not a full end-to-end implementation.
The IT Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of technical solutions through effective planning, execution, and governance across all phases of the project management methodology. This role requires close collaboration with global teams across the United States, India, and Europe (CET) and regular reporting to a Steering Committee.
This is an onsite position with occasional domestic travel within the United States, which will be arranged and reimbursed by Roche in accordance with company travel policy.
Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Governance Define, plan, and direct execution of SAP S/4HANA enhancement initiatives while balancing scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, and risk.
Own and maintain all standard project management deliverables, including project plans, schedules, RAID logs, stakeholder communication plans, RACI matrices, and meeting documentation.
Track progress against baseline schedule and budget; proactively manage scope, risks, and issues.
Provide timely status reporting and escape risks and issues to the Hiring Manager and Steering Committee.
Manage project execution across multiple global time zones (US, India, Europe CET).
SAP Scope & Functional Oversight Lead SAP S/4HANA initiatives supporting the following modules:
Extended Warehouse Management (EWM)
Materials Management (MM)
Quality Management (QM)
Intercompany processes
Partner with business and IT stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly defined, approved, and delivered.
Validation, Compliance & Quality (GxP) Accountable for Computer System Validation (CSV) activities in a GMP/GxP-regulated environment.
Manage project teams responsible for creating and maintaining validation documentation in alignment with SDLC and regulatory requirements.
Ensure inspection-ready documentation and compliance with applicable quality, validation, and data integrity standards.
Data Migration, Cutover & Go‑Live Accountable for data migration planning, cutover activities, and go‑live execution.
Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to execute mock conversions, deployment activities, and go‑live readiness.
Support post‑go‑live stabilization and transition to hyper‑care for a limited period.
Tools & Methodology Deliver projects using a Waterfall methodology, with selected components driven using SAFe in coordination with global teams.
Utilize project and delivery tools including Smartsheets, Airtable, and Jira.
Team & Vendor Collaboration Collaborate with offshore development resources, as applicable.
Lead and coordinate a medium‑complexity IT project team of approximately 15 resources.
Manage relationships with business, IT, and technology stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Reporting & Governance Administrative reporting to the Hiring Manager.
Responsible for providing project status and updates to the Steering Committee.
Required Qualifications Master's degree required (e.g., Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field) with a minimum of 7 years of experience as an SAP S/4HANA Project Manager delivering structured, enterprise‑scale projects.
Demonstrated experience managing SAP S/4HANA enhancement or rollout initiatives.
Solid understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) concepts and methodologies.
Proven ability to manage medium‑complexity projects across multiple global locations and time zones.
Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a global, matrixed environment.
Project management certification such as PMP or SAFe preferred.
Preferred Qualifications Experience delivering SAP solutions in a GMP / GxP‑regulated environment.
Experience within the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry.
Experience supporting post‑go‑live hyper‑care and stabilization.
Project management skills training, such as PMP, SAFe certification.
Work Location, Travel & Interview Process Onsite role.
Occasional domestic travel within the United States.
