Job Description
We are seeking a Product Specialist to join our Power Systems Division in Waukesha, WI. The role is on‑site, with no relocation assistance, and requires a minimum of a 50‑mile radius from Waukesha (Active‑Duty Military Service members are exempt). The expected annual salary range is $68,000–$99,000.
Responsibilities
Create multiple transformer proposals daily based on customer RFQs, specifications, and related documentation.
Review specifications to confirm customer requirements, product fit, pricing features, lead times, and identify exceptions, alternatives, and special testing or documentation needs.
Process multiple orders daily by verifying purchase orders and specifications against proposals, resolving discrepancies, assembling documentation for engineering, and managing customer change orders.
Approve and negotiate pricing within established guidelines using competitive feedback and market knowledge.
Collaborate with team members to meet proposal deadlines and provide technical support to customers, agents, and internal departments.
Support quotation programs through training, testing, and improvement suggestions, and act as a liaison between engineering, marketing, scheduling, and customers.
Apply lean tools for continuous improvement and maintain knowledge of industry standards such as ANSI, IEEE, CSA, and NEMA.
Participate in ISO work instruction development, customer visits, plant tours, and occasional site visits.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution OR a related bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of experience in a technical field.
Preferred: Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree; two years of product, customer service, inside sales, or proposals experience in a technical field; one year of experience using ERP and quotation systems.
Knowledge of electric power distribution transformers and their components and accessories.
Knowledge of typical applications, equipment, systems, and standards for electric power distribution transformers.
Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP or other ERP related systems, and the ability to analyze data and solve routine problems.
