Job Description
MGS has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Toolmaker to join our MGS US Tooling team. The Toolmaker is responsible for tooling operations to construct, fit, troubleshoot, assemble, or repair new or existing injection molds.
Responsibilities
Read engineering drawings and use measuring devices to produce or modify tooling.
Repair or request replacement parts, tooling or hardware, maintaining inventory.
Serve as a role model for safe work practices.
Set up and operate all Toolroom machines and hand-tool equipment.
Coordinate with specialty machining areas for specific operations or needs.
Understand and perform quality standards and inspection requirements.
Provide input to Design/Program Management during preliminary review.
Coordinate ordering of proper materials with Design department.
Assemble final tool according to engineering drawings and MGS quality standards.
Assist in first sample and suggest improvements for production.
Possibly work with and train apprentices.
Troubleshoot, perform maintenance and repair of tools and hot systems.
Any other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
Completion of an accredited two‑year technical college program or four‑year university program in a related field, or 5‑10 years of on‑the‑job training and experience.
Plastic injection mold tooling/Toolmaking experience a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Exceptional time management, communication, and organizational skills.
General knowledge of best machining practices.
Positive attitude and self‑Motivated team player.
