Commercial Restaurant Equipment Technician
Job Summary
To maintain, service, rebuild, troubleshoot, repair, and operate all commercial restaurant, laundry related equipment, and refrigeration systems, including but not limited to bakery, production kitchen, propane and natural gas, and electrical equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and rehab all kitchen equipment back to manufacturer’s specifications.
Major Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration equipment including coolers, freezers, rack systems, water, air-cooled and self-contained ice machines, ice cream machines, keg coolers, glycol systems.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial gas and electrical kitchen equipment including washers, dryers, fryers, steamers, ovens, pressure cookers, tilt skillets, commercial dish machines, combi ovens, microwaves, stoves, conveyor ovens, broilers, and espresso machines.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair kitchen and bakery equipment including mixers, combi ovens, salad dryers, meat grinders, kettles, proofers, dough rounders, and rack ovens.
Provide mechanical and technical guidance to less experienced technicians and apprentices.
Perform preventative maintenance and rehab of all kitchen equipment to required manufacturer specifications.
Prepare proper documents for ordering parts as needed.
Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities following UO policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate’s degree (AA) or Technical school preferred.
Experience
5+ years of commercial appliance repair and refrigeration experience required; 7+ years preferred.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
Refrigerant Transition and Recovery certification through the EPA required.
Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
Universal EPA Refrigerant card required.
