8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ET

Must-Have Requirements:

Active Pharmacist licensure in all of the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Idaho, Iowa

Specialty pharmacy experience (ideal)

Job Description:

This opportunity is for an advanced dispensary associated with a large oncology practice, serving the oncology patient population exclusively. The pharmacy is well-established with multiple teams and strong support structures in place. The Pharmacist will play a critical role in medication management, patient counseling, and coordination of care within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

Conduct initial patient evaluations and workups regarding disease status and anticipated prescribed therapy, including health histories and relevant patient data

Coordinate with physician staff and service providers to plan and implement patient care plans ensuring safe and timely drug therapy delivery

Maintain thorough and appropriate documentation in patient clinical charts, including communication with other healthcare professionals

Establish therapeutic objectives and monitor patients for desired therapeutic outcomes, including detection of adverse reactions and complications

Recommend modifications in drug therapy when indicated

Provide counseling and answer questions from patients and families regarding drug therapy, side effects, food/alcohol interactions, and overall medication use

Provide professional drug information and assistance to medical staff

Assist with medication access

Prepare and dispense medication orders

Review and perform QA checks on all new and repeat medication orders

Verify patient information, physician authorization, and insurance approval prior to dispensing

Check prescriptions for completeness and calculate correct dosages

Organize and direct pharmacy technician workflow, including verification of preparation, labeling, order entry, charges, and inspections

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Pharm. D. degree from an accredited school of pharmacy

Minimum five years of experience as a registered pharmacist

At least one to two years of prior supervisory and management experience

Valid pharmacist licenses in all required states

Strong knowledge of medication management and pharmacy operations

Additional Qualifications:

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Proficiency in pharmacy information systems and technology
