Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Ultrasound Tech II performs and records two-dimensional ultrasound diagnostic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate and record pertinent, anatomical, pathological, and functional patient data. Completes patient intake via collection of medical history and answers patient questions regarding imaging procedures. Confers with providers on the results of imaging tests and collaborates to determine if additional images are required.
Compensation
Expected pay for this position is $44.21 - $52.01/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an hourly position.
OSF will invest in you on day 1! Candidates with 5+ years of direct experience will receive
24 hours of Vacation and Holiday time
that will be available for use beginning day 1. This is in addition to our generous time-off benefits.
Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of an accredited ultrasound program
Licensure/ Certification: Registered as a registered diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR Registered as a vascular technologist with the Cardiovascular Credentialing Institute (CCI) OR Registered as a Sonographer (ARRT(S)) or a Vascular Sonographer (ARRT(VS)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
Basic Life Support Certification with American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
One certification required
(Abdomen – AB, Breast – BR, Fetal Echocardiography – FE, Obstetrics and Gynecology – OB/GYN, or Registered Vascular Technologist – RVT) to be determined by OSF Entity need. Specific certification required is based on OSF entity need and must come from either ARDMS, CCI, NTQR or the Fetal Medicine Foundation.
American Heart Association (BLS).
Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Previous clinical experience to be able to independently perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, equipment operation, and to gain knowledge of patient care techniques.
