Key Responsibilities
Assess & evaluate nursing and medical needs; deliver health care services to clients on Living Area; observe clients for signs of illness or injury.
Examine clients, check vital signs, schedule physical examinations, labs, X‑rays and other diagnostic studies.
Collaborate with physicians on health and behavioral problems, administer oral and parenteral medications, assist with immunization programs.
Perform advanced nursing procedures, treatments and therapeutic activities.
Refer clients to various service providers such as dentist, podiatrist, psychologist, ENT, dermatologist, ophthalmologist, internal medicine.
Assist in emergency room and clinic settings as needed.
Direct delivery of psychiatric and nursing care; monitor LPNs in medication administration; assist in establishing nursing policies and procedures.
Assist Director of Nursing with administrative matters concerning health care; support the Infection Control Nurse in infection control education and surveillance.
Maintain and complete nursing assessments, reports, and forms; order medications and supplies; submit repair orders as necessary.
Assist in preparation of education programs; participate as a member of interdisciplinary teams and attend staff and educational meetings.
Mandatory overtime required.
Qualifications
Current license as a registered professional nurse in the state of Ohio, as issued by the Board of Nursing.
Experience in psychiatric and developmental disabilities settings preferred.
Ability to work part‑time on all shifts, including the 2nd shift.
Strong communication, teamwork, time‑management and confidentiality skills.
