System Engineer Field Support Sr - Level 3

Skunk Works is an integral part of Lockheed's Aeronautics business area responsible for advanced systems development including conceptual design and rapid prototyping of clean sheet solutions and improvements and derivatives to existing systems. This position will work in an office located in greater Las Vegas, Nevada. Provide technical advice and guidance on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement of company technical products, programs and systems. Provide expertise for resolving technical problems, troubleshoots products and modifies them to customer requirements. Provide training to customers. Be an integral member of a technical team responsible for overseeing a complex mission system during operations and confer with a broader engineering team regarding anomalies in system operation. Responsible for day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, fault isolation, analysis and complete checkout of a set of complex computer and communications equipment. Maintain thorough knowledge of network-based communications systems, routers, virtual systems, relational databases, Windows Server 2003–2012, Windows XP, Windows 7, and UNIX operating systems. Develop solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and innovation. Remove and replace components and assemblies, repair and perform general upkeep of all systems; perform periodic inspections, overhaul, modify and update systems; perform periodic software installs and upgrades. Work with engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, technical guides and manufacturers\' manuals. Perform fault analysis and resolution of avionic system and subsystem discrepancies experienced in the field. Attend debriefings as required to aid in rapid identification of emergent issues. Document problems, even if resolved on-site, to identify failure trends. Operate, service and maintain support equipment. Manage and track multiple engineering and logistics support activities, providing periodic status to Customer and Program Management. Qualifications
Required Comprehensive system integration expertise. Thorough knowledge of network-based communications systems, routers, virtual systems, relational databases, Windows Server 2003–2012, Windows XP, Windows 7, and UNIX operating systems. Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity. Capability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, technical guides and manufacturers' manuals. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with strong oral and written communication to support on-site customers. Ability to travel and work at austere remote locations; must obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport; comply with mobility requirements including chemical warfare training and applicable vaccinations; willingness to work extended shifts including holidays and weekends. Active Top Secret security clearance with current SBI; willing to undergo polygraph examination if requested.
