Fixed Asset Accountant Slate is looking for a dynamic, organized, experienced Fixed Asset Accountant to join our growing team. This position will be responsible for completing several corporate accounting activities around fixed assets, leases, and intangible assets for our company.

What You Get To Do

Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including acquisitions, transfers, depreciation, impairments, and disposals.

Manage asset tagging in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Conduct periodic physical audits of fixed assets and resolve discrepancies.

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, such as ASC 360.

Manage lease accounting processes in compliance with ASC 842.

Maintain and reconcile lease schedules, including lease liabilities and right‑of‑use assets.

Record journal entries for lease payments, interest expense, and amortization.

Work with the Financial Planning & Analysis organization on budgeting and forecasting.

Analyze and account for new lease agreements, modifications, and terminations.

Track and account for intangible assets, such as software, patents, trademarks, copyrights, and licenses.

Ensure proper capitalization, amortization, and impairment of intangible assets in compliance with ASC 350.

Review contracts and agreements to identify intangible asset classifications and financial impacts.

Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency in fixed asset, lease, and intangible asset accounting processes.

Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting fixed assets, leases, and intangible assets.

Help implement the process required systems to be a public company.

Continuously improve the accuracy and speed of your work.

Perform 20% general accounting activities as needed.

What You Bring To The Team

Experience in completing the accounting activities for a manufacturing company.

Experience in owning the processes for fixed assets, leases, and intangible assets.

Ability to implement new accounting procedures.

Thoughtful communicator with aligned motives for joining our company.

Strong judgement and analytical skills.

Ability to juggle multiple assignments at the same time.

Strong ethics and integrity.

3 years plus relevant experience.

B.S. in Accounting; current CPA license preferred.
