Program Dentist (VLD)
Technical College System of Georgia – Valdosta Campus. Position: Full-time, regular posting.
Responsibilities
Supervise preclinical and clinical sessions in Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programs.
Provide medical/dental evaluation, radiographic prescribing, diagnosis, and anesthesia administration for students.
Assess and evaluate student skills within the scope of dental assisting and dental hygiene practice.
Teach dental science courses such as dental biology, anatomy, pharmacology, periodontology, oral pathology, and dental anesthesia.
Participate in program operation: curriculum management, program evaluation, CODA accreditation activities, student evaluation and advisement.
Ensure a safe and healthy work environment complying with college health and safety policies.
Minimum Qualifications
Current valid dental license (D.M.D or D.D.S) and U.S. Board certification.
Graduate of an ADA accredited dental school.
For licenses issued outside Georgia, approval by Georgia Board of Dentistry for faculty license required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching experience and educational methodology training (preferred but not required).
Salary & Benefits Salary commensurate with education and experience. Full‑time position includes State of Georgia benefits such as leave accrual, health and supplemental benefits, and retirement. Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Position funded by State/Local/Tuition funds.
Background Investigation All candidates will undergo a thorough background investigation including criminal history, employment history, and motor vehicle record checks. Incumbents may be required to meet a 10‑panel drug test before placement.
