Job Description Under general supervision, the instructor will provide instruction to students in Mechatronics and Industrial Systems courses, including technical training for industry as needed. The instructor will demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques, testing and grading procedures, and maintain accurate grade books and record keeping. The instructor will understand practices and procedures in the Mechatronics field, follow course syllabi, complete documentation timely, and maintain an accurate inventory of assigned property.

Summary of Working Conditions

Equipment used: Standard office equipment and various types of advanced in-field equipment as required by academic program and accreditation standards.

Working conditions: Category III – No foreseen exposure to hazardous chemicals/pathogens. Probability of working beyond the normal shift, but not frequently. Travel rarely required.

Minimum Qualifications Associate’s Degree in the teaching discipline (Mechatronics or IST) from a regionally accredited institution with verifiable credentials, qualifications, or competencies appropriate for teaching the course content and three (3) years of work‑related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous teaching experience at the post‑secondary level in the field of Mechatronics, industrial systems, or computer science.

Competency with Microsoft Office application programs.

At least five years of work experience.

Industry-specific certifications preferred; industry experience within a related career field also highly desired.

Salary and Benefits Salary is $60,000 per year. This full‑time position includes standard State of GA benefits such as leave accrual, options for health and other supplemental benefits, and retirement. The position may qualify the successful candidate for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. This position is funded in whole or in part by State/Local/Tuition funds.

Background Investigations Pursuant to college policy, a thorough background investigation will be performed for all candidates offered employment. No additional tests are required for this position.
