Brief Job Description The quality improvement data analyst performs routine to moderately complex data analysis work which supports a planned and systematic approach to monitoring, analyzing, and continually improving the quality of care and services provided to individuals served at the SSLC.

Develops and maintains databases and reports using software tools including MS Access, MS Excel, and SQL, ensuring integrity, security, and accessibility. Assists in development, maintenance, and presentation of management tools and department trend reports for quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

Attends work regularly and may be required to work specific shift schedules or using rotating schedule, extended shift, overtime, and on‑call status.

Develops and maintains databases and reports using MS Access, MS Excel, and SQL; maintains relational database system and spreadsheets to track and trend quality of care data.

Executes procedures necessary to save, retrieve, and recover databases from failures; reviews queries and resolves operational problems.

Develops and implements database procedures to collect and track data with particularity to identify trends among program areas, living units, work shifts, protections/supports/services, areas of care, staff members and/or individuals receiving services and supports.

Ensures integrity, security and accessibility of SSLC databases; develops tools to track accuracy and integrity of data reporting, establishes processes for analyzing and validating data used to calculate outcome measures.

Performs audits to verify data accuracy, reconciles data reports, identifies gaps, errors, and variances.

Provides guidance to SSLC staff in data collection, review, and validation of electronic health data.

Writes queries to access data for analysis and reporting; works with interdisciplinary teams to research and correct data issues.

Trains program staff on entering data correctly; provides support for data or training on reporting, explaining extracted information.

Responds to ad hoc data requests; collects data for information requests; requests IRIS access for staff and resets IRIS passwords as assigned.

Collaborates with members of QA/QI Council and other stakeholders to maximize opportunities for data collection and analysis.

Participates in disaster response, recovery, or COOP activation duty as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of agency programs, policies, and service delivery processes.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel, including formula writing.

Skill managing data in relational database systems, developing queries and report software.

Skill in data searches, cleaning, and use of computers.

Proficient use of MS Excel formulas.

Complex problem solving and critical thinking.

Ability to analyze data for trends and distill large data sets into readable formats.

Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.

Effective written and oral communication.

Willingness to learn new systems such as SharePoint.

Team player ability to work with stakeholders.

Registrations, Licensure, or Certifications None

Education and Experience

Required: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Preferred: Technical school or college/university coursework in data science, business analytics, computer science, or related fields.

Required: Work experience with MS Access and Excel; experience in data analysis, research, and report design; experience in developing and maintaining queries and reports.

Preferred: Experience with MS SharePoint.

Preferred: Experience working with electronic health records.
