Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Shipping Lead will support a team responsible for the picking and packing of customer orders. This role helps maintain a safe and efficient work environment, promptly addresses team member concerns related to customer orders, and escalates issues as needed to ensure seamless warehouse operations. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, sound judgment, and a proactive mindset to daily warehouse activities. They are organized, safety-conscious, and able to guide a team in a fast-paced environment. This individual values accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to food-safety and company standards, while maintaining positive working relationships.
Position Responsibilities
Manage the finished goods (FG) flow from warehouse to the operation lines.
Track inventory on shipping operation lines.
Ensure employees receive the appropriate training and support.
Make recommendations to optimize employee workflow.
Recommend improvements to operational processes.
Monitor and report on department performance and communicate updates to the supervisor.
Relay essential information to incoming shifts as needed.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Promote and maintain a safe, inclusive work environment.
Communicate challenges or barriers affecting the team or customer order to the supervisor in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate.
Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.
Ability to follow all safety requirements and guidelines.
Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety vest, back supports, and warehouse footwear.
Ability to follow company procedures related to food safety.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work well with others.
The pay for this role in the state of
CA
is
$20-$28/hr
and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate’s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
