Live Operations Manager
Braswell Family Farms in Nashville, NC is seeking a Live Operations Manager. This person will be responsible for driving the Company’s Mission, Vision, Core Values and for planning, directing, and overseeing all Live Production operations for Braswell Family Farms NC and VA. As a strategic member of the operations leadership team, the Live Operations Manager will contribute to the business’s overall success by influencing the health, wellness and performance of our flocks, growing our people, and supporting our organizational goals.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Overseeing company-wide areas of flock management, bird scheduling and movement.
Managing flock service teams including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management.
Strategically managing all areas of bird performance including livability, feed conversion and production.
Selecting feed rations and coordinating with the mill on deliveries and ration changes.
Maintaining a forward‑looking flock forecast that aligns with sales forecasts.
Continuously leading animal welfare and employee safety programs and initiatives for production operations.
Maintaining biosecurity programs.
Building and maintaining contract producer and grower relationships.
Aligning bird strategies with sales goals.
Participating in design, build, and operation of expanded company owned pullet and layer farms.
Leading departmental financial management including budget to actual performance analysis and capital expenditure investments.
Overseeing and conducting regular audits of company-owned and contractor grower facilities.
Overseeing environmental and animal sampling for disease identification and prevention, coordinating related activities and working closely with the veterinarian.
Leading problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives for Live Production.
Responsible for overall contract producer and pullet grower relationships and strategies.
Supports quality by driving all of the department’s Environment Management Systems (EMS) to include monitoring and reducing operationally related negative effects on the environment and pollution prevention.
Required Skills & Experience
Excitement for and alignment with Braswell Family Farms’ faith‑driven purpose and values.
EOS experience is a plus.
College degree in animal science or 5+ years in flock management preferred; 5+ years of experience in the intake, care and moving of adolescent chickens. Supervisory experience with proven ability to train, motivate, coach, discipline and retain a talented workforce.
Analytical skills: mastery of live production efficiency drivers and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Ability and experience in successfully managing and building collaborative teams.
Strategic problem‑solving skills and vision for the future.
Open and direct communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be self‑directed in an entrepreneurial environment.
Focus on accuracy and detail.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license as travel (85 %) is required. Must be fully flexible with hours and schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Sound judgment and unwavering ethics.

Strong computer skills.
