Job Description We are looking for a passionate and forward‑thinking Business Development Manager to lead growth efforts in the rapidly expanding school bus electrification market. This role will focus on identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships with school districts and fleet operators, and driving adoption of clean transportation solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of EV infrastructure, funding programs, and the unique challenges of the school transportation sector.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Partnership Development

Identify and cultivate potential strategic technology partnerships within the school bus ecosystem and adjacent mobility sectors

Build comprehensive landscape mapping and strategic roadmap specifically targeting the school bus electrification market

Serve as primary lead for established contacts with industry influencers including school bus OEMs, distributors, fleet operators, consultants, and transportation directors

Develop, acquire, and maintain deep technical and business knowledge of the school bus industry to function as an expert consultant in clients' operational environments

Apply firsthand knowledge of school transportation operations, fleet management, and digital/IoT market landscape to identify large‑scale challenges addressable by Microvast battery solutions

Collaborate with school districts, transportation companies, and team members to build electrification visions and develop supporting business cases

Solution Development & Implementation

Work with clients to validate requirements, ensure battery solutions can be adopted and supported within existing school bus operations

Manage solution implementation processes from initial consultation through deployment

Assist product development efforts by gathering feedback and project specifications to advise engineering teams on school bus‑specific requirements

Relationship Management & Channel Development

Build and nurture long‑term collaborative channel partnerships with school bus manufacturers, dealers, and fleet operators

Develop comprehensive channel programs tailored to the unique needs of school transportation markets

Establish quarterly business reviews and maintain ongoing relationships with key stakeholders

Technical Presentations & Thought Leadership

Prepare and present technical battery solutions to school district audiences, transportation conferences, and industry groups

Influence development teams to implement new technologies, approaches, and optimizations needed to meet school bus electrification requirements

Represent Microvast at school transportation trade shows, conferences, and industry forums

Track all activities, collaborating closely with Sales and Sales Operations teams

Meet and exceed individual targets for partnership development and revenue generation in the school bus sector

Provide market intelligence and competitive analysis specific to school bus electrification trends

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree required

Minimum 7+ years of experience in automotive technologies with specialization in corporate development, business development, sales, or partnership models

Proven knowledge, expertise, and passion for business development, innovation, technology, and electric vehicles

Industry‑Specific Knowledge

Must have solid understanding of electric vehicles and school bus operations

Deep familiarity with school transportation ecosystem including fleet management, route optimization, and maintenance requirements

Understanding of school district procurement processes, funding mechanisms, and decision‑making structures

Knowledge of school bus safety regulations, emissions standards, and electrification incentives

Strong track record of developing strategic and channel partnerships in B2B environments

Proven ability to sell, negotiate, and close complex deals successfully

Experience working with government entities, school districts, or public transportation agencies preferred

Proven success in consultative selling and solution‑based approaches

Results‑Oriented: focuses on realizing goals and meeting standards and objectives while constantly seeking ways to improve and outperform results

Client Focus: demonstrates ability to discover and meet customers' needs and wishes, particularly in the unique school transportation environment

Ability to Influence: strong interpersonal skills to influence decision‑makers across multiple stakeholder groups including school administrators, transportation directors, and procurement teams

Additional Qualifications

Excellent presentation and communication skills for diverse audiences from technical teams to school board members

Ability to travel up to 50% nationwide to meet with school districts, OEM partners, attend conferences, and support implementation projects

Experience with CRM systems and sales operations processes

Understanding of battery technology, charging infrastructure, and grid integration concepts

Expected Compensation Annual salary + bonus and stock awards + benefits.
