Job Summary The Evening Pharmacist is responsible for supporting the evening workflow and ensuring the continuation of pharmacy management goals within the dispensing pharmacy. This role involves providing comprehensive and accurate drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services for various drug distribution systems. Strong management skills and attention to detail are essential to ensure that the appropriate drug product reaches the customer efficiently and safely.

Essential Functions Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Execute day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensuring workflow efficiency and adherence to production quotas and deadlines. Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practice, including DEA policies and third-party payer requirements. Supervise pharmacy production staff to ensure proper order entry, workflow, security, and timely deliveries. Verify completeness and accuracy of all new and refill prescriptions, labels, and packaging. Oversee preparation and/or supervision of sterile IV drug products or solutions. Assist with ordering, handling, receiving, documentation, and storage of controlled substances; maintain perpetual inventory for Schedule II drugs. Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as scheduled or required by management. Ensure workflow dashboard is cleared daily. Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA. Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment This position operates primarily in a long-term care facility and may involve exposure to loud noise. Standard office and pharmacy equipment will be used, including computers, phones, photocopiers, and rolling carts.

Physical Demands Ability to sit or stand for 7–10 hours per day. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Extended hours may be required as needed.

Education and Experience Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy. Current license is to practice pharmacy in good standing. Proficiency in clinical interpretation (drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions, and allergies). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to dispense medications accurately and efficiently. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
