The ideal candidate thrives under tight deadlines, works efficiently, and brings a positive, solutions-oriented mindset to every project. Position Overview

The CNC Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of computer numerical control (CNC) machinery used in the fabrication of display and scenic elements for experiential marketing projects. This position requires expertise in interpreting technical drawings and CAD files, preparing materials, and ensuring precision and quality throughout the production process. The CNC Operator collaborates with design and engineering teams to execute fabrication tasks according to exact specifications and, when needed, can produce cut-ready drawings and build reference drawings to support fabrication when engineering bandwidth is limited. Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC machines (including routers, mills, and lathes) to cut, drill, and shape a variety of materials. Interpret and utilize technical drawings, 3D models, and CAD files to determine production requirements. Create and update cut-ready drawings, shop drawings, and build reference drawings as needed to support fabrication—especially when engineering resources are limited. Prepare and secure materials for CNC machining, ensuring proper alignment and stability of workpieces. Review, prepare, and adjust digital files and toolpaths to optimize fabrication quality and efficiency. Conduct quality control inspections of fabricated components to verify conformance with design specifications and tolerances. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure safe and reliable operation. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to machine operations and fabrication processes. Maintain inventory of raw materials and cutting tools, communicating supply needs as necessary. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with company standards. Required Skills and Qualifications

Demonstrated experience operating multi-axis CNC routers and related CNC equipment within fabrication, scenic construction, or similar environments. Working knowledge of drafting and layout practices, with the ability to create cut drawings and fabrication-ready reference drawings when needed. Comprehensive knowledge of materials used in display and scenic fabrication, including wood, plastics, foams, composites, and non-ferrous metals. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing precision components. Mechanical aptitude and effective problem-solving skills applied to CNC operations. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
