Position Overview Are you ready to take charge and make a difference? Join our team as the supervisor of a general highway maintenance crew. In this role, you'll lead the team in performing manual labor and operating heavy equipment to maintain and repair highways. From planning to execution, you'll be involved in every aspect of the project.
Responsibilities As a Highway Foreman 2, you will be responsible for organizing and overseeing a team of workers who operate heavy construction equipment and use hand tools to carry out various highway maintenance tasks. These tasks include:
Repairing cracks and potholes
Stabilizing and repairing shoulders
Installing and cleaning drainage pipes
Installing guide rails
Sweeping roadways, picking up litter, widening roadways
Investigating and resolving complaints
Coordinating emergency responses to snow, ice, storm damage, or vehicle accidents
Reviewing and keeping road log records of conditions within the assigned area to recommend and assist in effective priority planning and estimates
Work Schedule and Additional Information
Full‑time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch
No telework option
Salary: starting salary may be non‑negotiable (in some cases)

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
One year of experience as a Highway Foreman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Two years of experience in the performance of lead work or skilled tradesman duties on a highway maintenance or construction project; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training
Special Requirements
Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver's License

Must be able to perform essential job functions
