JOB OVERVIEW
The Front Desk Night Auditor is a critical role responsible for supporting the night audit team and ensuring smooth front desk operations during late-night and early morning shifts at the hotel. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently during overnight hours.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide backup and relief for the primary night auditor, covering shifts as needed
Perform nightly financial reconciliation and audit of hotel transactions
Process guest folios, ensuring accuracy of charges, payments, and account balances
Verify and balance daily cash and credit card transactions
Prepare daily revenue reports and financial summaries
Handle guest check-ins, check-outs, and room assignments during night shifts
Respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues professionally and efficiently
Manage incoming phone calls and guest communication
Maintain hotel security and monitor front desk areas
Post room charges and process guest billing
Update and maintain guest reservation systems
Assist with night audit software and hotel management systems
Handle emergency situations and guest requests promptly
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area
Print out required reports to complete the daily flash from the system
Start completing items on the AM Checklist prior to the first agent arriving for the shift
Perform other duties as assigned by Management
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required
Previous front desk or hospitality experience preferred
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with numbers.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with computers; experience with Marriott PMS (FOSSE) preferred.
Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or stressful situations.
Basic accounting or bookkeeping knowledge is a plus
Schedule The work schedule is based on the demands of the business you must be available days, nights, weekends, and/or holiday availability are required.
Physical, Mental and Environmental & Technical Demands Fast‑paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint. Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, and twist in the work area. Must be able to maneuver around property. Must be able to sit, walk and stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and copier. Must have manual dexterity to operate all office equipment.
Grooming All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well‑groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as part of the orientation process.
