Responsibilities

Perform general office work, including photocopying, mail sorting, telephone answering, and retrieving information from departments and files.

Maintain record‑keeping and filing systems: timekeeping, classification, sorting, filing of documents, and purging.

Assist the public and staff with reception duties, provide customer service, and restrict access to the department.

Operate office equipment such as fax machines, calculators, addressograph machines, and printers; order supplies.

Verify and assign Admission, Discharge, Transfer (ADT) codes; accept subpoenas; perform admission and discharge record tracking; support billing, record completion, and census.

Perform clerical tasks requiring correct spelling, good English, basic arithmetic, and effective use of office machines.

Report to work on time, maintain a professional appearance, and comply with hospital policies and procedures.

Work any shift and schedule in a variety of settings.

Qualifications

Ability to spell correctly and use good English.

Basic arithmetical computation skills.

Ability to operate various office machines.

Follow oral and written directions and evaluate situations accurately.

Read and write English at a level required for successful job performance.
