Position Summary
The Academy Financial Analyst III assists in financial decision-making by collecting, analyzing, investigating, and reporting financial data. Performs complex financial and operational analysis to support short-term and long-range strategic plans, operating budgets, and special projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Review balance sheet reconciliations monthly and advise staff on account reconciliations if needed
Reviews and analyzes financial reporting processes to identify potential improvements
Produces monthly financial statements
Review financial information, provide monthly reports, and access budget vs. actual performance with Headmasters
Provide extensive support for Headmasters that need financial guidance
Evaluate spending at the Academy level and identify and resolve potential issues
Ensure compliance with budget allocations
Work with all departments to provide Academy forecasts and annual budgets
Prepare and present Board reports quarterly
Assigned new school expansion projects overseeing and monitoring costs
Work with IT and facilities to coordinate projects at the Academies
Create and document any needed Policies and Procedures and ensure compliance
Manage projects or assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring, reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc.
Develop financial models to evaluate and make business decisions.
Identify and communicate any internal control issues
Independently researches acquire expertise and develops solutions for advanced business problems/issues
Assist with our annual audit
Other duties as needed.
Qualifications, Competencies, and Strengths
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field at minimum, MBA preferred.
Experience: 7+ years of accounting/finance work experience.
Experience in education or non-profit preferred
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge or other financial systems.
Experience in Adaptive Reporting systems or similar.

Superior written and verbal communication skills; oriented towards detail, thoroughness, and accuracy.
Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

Additional Requirements
Type of fingerprint clearance: Must possess or obtain a valid Texas Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card.
Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. It may be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.
Travel required: Will need to travel locally to the various academies within Texas.
