Brunel is looking for a Process Safety Advisor for a 12-month contract in Port Arthur, TX.
The Process Safety Advisor is responsible for supporting and improving process safety performance at a large industrial operating site. The role focuses on risk identification, regulatory compliance, training, and field engagement to reduce process safety risks and strengthen site safety culture.
This position works closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to support OSHA PSM and EPA RMP requirements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Support and lead site process safety programs and initiatives
Facilitate and participate in process hazard analyses, including HAZOP, LOPA, and other PHA activities
Support process safety studies and consequence analysis. Experience with PHAST preferred
Provide technical support for OSHA Process Safety Management and EPA Risk Management Plan compliance
Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking
Support management of change reviews, operating procedures, and safeguard evaluations
Develop, update, and deliver process safety training to site personnel
Conduct field engagement and coaching to reinforce process safety expectations
Collaborate with engineering and operations on risk mitigation and design changes
Act as a technical advisor on process safety-related matters
Preferred Qualifications
5 or more years of process safety experience
Experience facilitating HAZOPs and structured risk assessments
Experience with consequence modeling software such as PHAST
Direct involvement with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP programs
