Process Safety Manager
Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 per year
Location: McArthur, OH
The Process Safety Manager will lead the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) systems at the plant. This leadership role ensures full compliance with OSHA PSM standards while proactively managing operational risks. The manager will also oversee EPA RMP compliance, maintain regulatory documentation, foster a safety‑first culture, and provide mentorship to engineering and operations teams.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with plant leadership to align safety initiatives with operational goals.
Own and maintain the plant's PSM program in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119.
Own EPA RMP program and maintain compliance.
Lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP and What‑If studies.
Ensure timely completion of Management of Change (MOC) processes.
Oversee mechanical integrity programs for critical equipment.
Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses for process‑related events.
Maintain and update operating procedures and ensure employee training compliance.
Interface with regulatory agencies and ensure audit readiness.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 4+ years of experience in process safety, chemical manufacturing, or high‑hazard industries.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910.119 PSM standards and EPA RMP.
Proven experience leading PHA using HAZOP, What‑If, FMEA, or LOPA.
Success in developing and implementing process safety systems and risk mitigation strategies.
Expertise in root cause analysis, incident investigation, and corrective action planning.
Familiarity with reliability engineering principles, asset integrity, and mechanical integrity programs.
Ability to interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and control systems.
Proficiency with process safety software tools.
