Mechanic Diesel Technician – Ryder Supply Chain Solutions
Location: Tonawanda, NY.
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet.

Benefits
Hourly Pay: $28.84 per hour
Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 per quarter (four times per year)
Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 after 30 days and $1,250 after 90 days
Tool Allowance: $200 per year
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Weekends Off
Hours: Split shift 11:30 am – 8:00 pm
Responsibilities
Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
Performs standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections.
Conducts preventive maintenance.
Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable.
Identifies root causes of basic failures/conditions and performs required repairs.
Replaces defective components as instructed.
Performs facility maintenance duties.
Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once a task is assigned.
Utilizes key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
Works in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT).
Performs other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree preferred.
Basic tools required.
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience.
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
