Compass Oncology, the Pacific Northwest's largest private Cancer Care Clinic group, looks for an exceptional Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Infusion Oncology care team at our new East Cancer Center clinic. Oncology or Infusion experience is a plus, and a passion for patient care is essential.
Job Details Employment Type:
Full‑time (0.8 FTE; 32 hours per week, 8‑hour shifts)
Location:
East Cancer Center, 12123 SW 69th Avenue, Tigard, OR
Salary:
$42.00 – $66.73 per hour (final offer based on experience and qualifications)
Job Scope Under general supervision, you will provide professional nursing care for oncology patients following established standards and practices. You will demonstrate knowledge of age‑specific differences in the patient population and support the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities
Assist physicians with exams and procedures.
Maintain efficient patient flow in and out of exam rooms.
Assess patients for changes in condition (e.g., abnormal labs, imaging, drug reactions) and initiate appropriate action.
Facilitate dose modification by assessing labs, consulting protocols or treatment plans, calculating dose, and communicating with physicians.
Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
Administer all medications and blood products with correct dosages, routes, timing, and technique.
Document nursing assessments, patient teaching, and medication/fluid administration in the patient chart.
Communicate all pertinent information and interventions to physicians.
Ensure nursing charges are accurate on patient fee slips.
Act as a resource for medical assistants.
Triage patient phone calls, documenting relevant information in the chart.
Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional materials.
Demonstrate awareness of community resources and assist with referrals.
Manage pharmacy medication refill requests via the phone line and record in the chart.
Provide nursing coverage for satellite offices as needed.
Follow OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents, biohazardous waste, or other potentially infected materials.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Show reliability and punctuality by consistently arriving on time and supporting team operations.
Qualifications Education
Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
Registered Nurse (RN) state license and current registration with the state board.
Chemotherapy Immunotherapy provider card, preferred.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Current CPR certification required.
Must maintain continuing education requirements.
Experience/Training
Minimum 1–3 years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology (preferred).
