Job Title Registered Dental Hygienist
Location Barry L. Holden, DMD, PC
Employment Type Full Time: 4-5 days/week
Key Responsibilities
Provide high‑quality patient care: Perform a range of dental hygiene procedures, including cleanings, scaling, root planing (SRP), and adjunctive treatments as needed.
Patient education: Educate patients on maintaining optimal oral health, including brushing, flossing, plaque control, nutrition, and preventive care.
Collaborate with the dental team: Work closely with the dentist and other team members to assess patient needs and ensure they receive the best care possible, assisting with the development of individualized treatment plans.
Patient comfort & communication: Ensure that patients are comfortable throughout their appointments and address any concerns they may have, building strong relationships and encouraging good oral hygiene habits.
Maintain clinical documentation: Keep accurate and up‑to‑date patient records, documenting all treatments, procedures, and patient interactions.
Infection control & safety: Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Manage patient flow: Effectively manage a productive schedule of 8‑12 patients per day, ensuring high‑quality care while maintaining efficiency.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Education & licensure: A degree or certificate in dental hygiene from an accredited program and a valid state dental hygiene license.
Experience: Previous experience in dental hygiene is preferred, but newly graduated hygienists are encouraged to apply.
Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a service‑oriented, compassionate approach to patient care.
Professionalism & commitment: A strong commitment to maintaining a high standard of care, lifelong learning, and staying current with best practices in dental hygiene.
Team player: Ability to work well with other dental professionals in a collaborative, team‑based environment.
