JOB SUMMARY
The QC Technician is responsible for performing in‑process and finished good testing on W.R. Meadows products required to determine the disposition of material produced at the W.R. Meadows facilities. The QC Technician will complete all assigned tests both in the production areas and in the lab in an efficient, accurate, professional manner. The QC Technician is responsible for accurately and promptly reporting all QC testing results and results of all inspections and tests requested by lab management.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Receipt, testing, documenting, and reporting of results of in‑process and finished good samples delivered by the W.R. Meadows facilities.
Quality Control testing, including (but not limited to) viscosity, density (Weight per gallon), pH, tensile strength, bond strength, reflectance, moisture loss, penetration, resilience, and softening point.
Accurate recording of all test data and review against established requirements to determine conformance to product specifications.
Perform routine in‑process inspections and tests of products as they are being made in production areas.
Testing and reporting results of customer complaint samples.
Operate a variety of laboratory and portable test equipment as needed to perform duties listed above.
Maintain a well‑organized workspace and accurately track and process multiple production runs daily. Maintain sample integrity as necessary to complete in‑process and final release testing.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify areas of potential improvement for consideration by Technical Management.
Cross‑train to learn how to perform additional tests in other areas of the QC lab as directed by Quality Management.
Assist the Director of Quality and the Manager of Technical Services as necessary.
Other duties as required by the Director of Quality and Executive Management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Previous experience in an industrial laboratory and production setting.
Understanding of basic Quality Control lab testing and general lab safety (Safety glasses, protective gloves, fire safety).
Prior experience with asphaltic, cementitious, epoxy, or rubberized products is a plus.
Basic skill with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
2+ Years of related experience.
High School Diploma or GED (Associate or Bachelor's Degree Preferred).
